Project Background: Premiering in 1921, Pirandello's Six Characters boldly rejects realism to exploit humanity's vulnerable inner core. Beginning with unfinished characters in a satirical search of their playwright, the story assaults traditional theatre convention and concludes with real confusion about the state of reality for audiences. Adapted by local playwright Ruth Aaron Grove to accommodate modern preferences. Premiering in 1896, Jarry's Ubu Roi presents modern man as the anti-hero in a farce that was outlawed on French stages after its first and only opening night performance stirred audience rioting. Cast to the dungeon of puppet theatre for the last 110 years, TOP revives Ubu Roi to the delight and horror of 21st Century audiences. Adapted by local playwright Albert Powell for absurdist purposes. Ticket Information: General Admission: $8; Students/Seniors: $5. Special Discounts: $5 Preview Performance and Matinees
